Mon, 28 January 2008 On the morning of New Year's Eve I sat down with my friend John Garraus to discuss his new selection of poems titled "Poesia" He will read two poems. Here they are: Headline Hail, the King is dead. The newspaper read, he died in bed. The Jesuit said, everyone bow their heads. The King is dead. Key Largo State of Mind On the sea, floating upon water. On this island upon islands, which are not really islands, but keys. Strips of land, like crakers in tomato soup or broken glass on the sidewalk or sugar on a unfinished jig-saw puzzle. On this bar floor which we drink the day away. bio from his book: John Garraus was born in Denver, Colorado.
